How To Get A Credit Score Report

Getting a credit score report is always a good idea, especially if you have no idea of what your score might be. If you have any plans in the near future to apply for a loan, such as an auto loan, a home mortgage loan or maybe something smaller like a credit card, then it's important that you know what your score is.

If you have recently applied for a loan or credit card and you were rejected then your credit score report will tell you what the reason for denial was and you can begin to fix it if possible.

You can easily get your credit report now a days. There's minimal paper work that needs to be filled out and you will not even need to leave your house, as long as you have an internet connection.

There's more good news, you can even get your credit report for free. Yes there are still some things that are free today. The three credit reporting agencies are required to give you one free credit score report once a year. You will need to fill out a form for each of these agencies, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. You can also receive a free credit report if you were denied approval from an application for credit. The only thing is you will only be able to get it free from the agency that the lender used, it will be in the denial notice that was sent to you by mail. It's always good to get it.

I do not suggest that you attempt to get your credit score report from one of those millions of companies online that offer you them for free. What happens is you will need to input your credit card information and other personal information about yourself, and if you don't cancel their service within the month then your credit card will be charged every single month for them to begin monitoring your credit report. It's not something that you really need to do, through them especially.

The best advice that I could ever give to you is spend a few minutes downloading the forms from the websites of Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, fill them out and mail them in to receive your free credit report score. It's an important thing for you to do if you are looking to apply for some sort of loan in the near future.
